Interpretation, in dramatized concert format, of Philip Glass Einstein's opera On The Beach , original from 1976. This unmissable musical event is starring the great singer Suzanne Vega , along with the Ictus Ensemble , made up of seven musicians, and the Collegium Vocale Gent , made up of 12 singers. They will all perform under the direction of Georges-Elie Octors to give shape to a fresh and radical show that dissolves the barriers between the public and the artists.

This production puts its focus on the music, on the musical sound of the libretto, hence it comes close to the length of Glass's original opera. It is the making of the music itself that is on display to the audience, who will enjoy seeing the musicians at work and Suzanne Vega in an exciting role as multiple narrator (she sings, recites and acts) providing a wonderful vocal collage.

The artists, sharing time, space and even point of view with the public, will turn the Arriaga Theater into an enveloping visual and auditory environment.
