Der belgische Komponist Joseph Jongen war wie Anton Bruckner ein herausragender Organist. Seine »Symphonie Concertante« entstand 1926 für die Wiedereinweihung der größten spielbaren Orgel der Welt mit 1670 Pfeifen und 455 Registern, die im Wanamaker-Kaufhaus in Philadelphia beheimatet ist. Monumentale Erhabenheit ist auch in Bruckners Sinfonien zu finden, nicht nur den Satzbau, sondern auch die Momente des Religiösen betreffend als musikalischer Verweis auf das Höchste. In der 7. Sinfonie ist das »Adagio« das feierliche Zentrum des Werkes.

Like Anton Bruckner, the Belgian composer Joseph Jongen was an outstanding organist. His »Symphonie Concertante« was composed in 1926 for the rededication of the largest playable organ in the world with 1670 pipes and 455 registers, which is housed in the Wanamaker department store in Philadelphia. Monumental sublimity can also be found in Bruckner's symphonies, not only in the structure of the sentences, but also in the religious aspects as a musical reference to the highest. In the 7th symphony, the »Adagio« is the solemn center of the work.
