Fünf Sparten! Das ist einmalig in Thüringen; bundesweit verfügen nur zwei weitere Theater über Musiktheater, Schauspiel, Ballett, Puppentheater und Konzert vereint zu einem vielfältigen Ensemble – Chemnitz und Halle. Zu erleben ist die ganze Vielfalt des Theaters Altenburg Gera insbesondere bei spartenübergreifenden Inszenierungen sowie in der Eröffnungsgala.

Zum großen Spielzeitauftakt präsentieren Ihnen Künstler*innen aller fünf Sparten Ausschnitte aus ausgewählten Premieren und Wiederaufnahmen, welche die Spielzeit 2022/23 zu bieten hat. Ob Hänsel und Gretel, Giselle, Stützen der Gesellschaft, Synergien, Liebe macht frei, Eugen Onegin, Dantons Tod, Corpus, Hoffmanns Erzählungen, Du sollst nicht lieben, Dinner For One – Wie alles begann, Die Comedian Harmonists, Das Jubiläum, Chorissimo! oder Anything Goes – es wird enorm viel geboten. 

Moderiert wird die Eröffnungsgala traditionell von Generalintendant Kay Kuntze und Schauspieldirektor Manuel Kressin.

Five divisions! This is unique in Thuringia; There are only two other theaters in Germany that offer musical theatre, drama, ballet, puppet theater and concerts combined in a diverse ensemble – Chemnitz and Halle. The full diversity of the Altenburg Gera Theater can be experienced, especially in interdisciplinary productions and in the opening gala.

At the big start of the season, artists from all five genres will present excerpts from selected premieres and revivals that the 2022/23 season has to offer. Whether Hansel and Gretel, Giselle, pillars of society, synergies, love sets you free, Eugene Onegin, Danton's death, Corpus, The Tales of Hoffmann, You shall not love, Dinner For One - How it all began, The Comedian Harmonists, The anniversary, Chorissimo! or Anything Goes - there is an enormous amount on offer. 

The opening gala is traditionally moderated by General Manager Kay Kuntze and Theater Director Manuel Kressin.
