Nel bicentenario della nascita di Giuseppe Verdi - e anche di Richard Wagner, onorato con un concerto sinfonico - l'Ente Concerti allestisce nel 2013 ben due opere del maestro di Busseto. L'apertura della Stagione segna il ritorno di Falstaff, ultimo lavoro di Verdi, che torna a Sassari dopo 15 anni. Commedia lirica in tre atti, nata dalla collaborazione col fidato Arrigo Boito, Falstaff prende le mosse dalla commedia Le allegre comari di Windsor di Shakespeare, già diverse volte fonte d'ispirazione per le opere verdiane. Alla prima rappresentazione nel 1893 alla Scala di Milano erano presenti, tra gli altri, Mascagni, Puccini, Carducci e il librettista Giacosa.

On the bicentenary of the birth of Giuseppe Verdi - and also of Richard Wagner, honored with a symphonic concert - the Concerti Organization staged in 2013 two works by the maestro from Busseto. The opening of the season marks the return of Falstaff , Verdi's latest work, which returns to Sassari after 15 years. Lyric comedy in three acts, born from the collaboration with the trusted Arrigo Boito, Falstaff starts from Shakespeare's play The Merry Wives of Windsor, already a source of inspiration for Verdi's operas several times. At the first performance in 1893 at the Scala in Milan were present, among others, Mascagni, Puccini, Carducci and the librettist Giacosa.
