With one of the most internationally successful operettas, Emmerich Kálmán's "Gräfin Mariza", Bohemian and Hungarian melodies ring out at the world's largest operetta festival in Mörbisch am See. Not far from the Austro-Hungarian border, Karl Absenger stages the story of the rich and beautiful countess, who wants to save herself from her admirers, in the first year of Peter Edelmann's directorship on the spectacular floating stage. Without further ado, she invents a fiancé and throws a lavish party to scare off the many annoying cavaliers.
