This year’s Opera Gala theme is Bernstein to Bel Canto. Our signature fundraising event begins with a concert featuring an outstanding cast of versatile opera artists performing at Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church. The one-hour concert on March 12th will showcase a trio of nationally recognized artists that will perform famous Bel Canto opera arias and ensembles, followed by a tribute to Leonard Bernstein.

Returning favorite artists, Robyn Lamp (Tosca), Derrek Stark (Italian lover in Bats Revenge) and Cory Crider (Baron Scarpia in Tosca) will display their artistry and versatility in this highlights concert. The opera portion will be narrated and accompanied by Maestro Jorge Parodi, our newly appointed music director. The Bernstein tribute is accompanied and narrated by Gordon Roberts who actually worked with Bernstein.

Gala package patrons then move on to The Club at the Strand for a Meet the Artists Reception, an elegant gala dinner with our very essential fundraising activities and customary surprise performance.
