The production by Inken Rahardt (“La Traviata”, “Tosca”, “Semiramis”) elicits a very unique poetry from Engelbert Humperdinck's opera. Just as the children Hansel and Gretel get lost in the forest, the old Hans and Grete are lost to the world. The emotionally beautiful music by Engelbert Humperdinck turns the story into a dreamlike piece for adults. The well-known opera “Hansel and Gretel” has been reassembled in this version and the well-known roles have also been changed and redistributed. In addition to the main roles of Hans and Grete, there are three nurses: Emilia, Kati and Anne.
