The recipe is simple: Take Adelheid Wette's distinctive verses from the »Hansel and Gretel« libretto and combine them with supplementary narrative passages from the fairytale plot. Add the most beautiful melodies from Humperdinck's fairy tale opera, spice them up with the most important parts of the story in terms of music drama and arrange all of this for a brass ensemble with a magnificent sound. The result is a combination of word and sound that is as happy as it is exciting at times - a concert hour for pure enjoyment and well-being for the whole family.
