Vincenzo Bellini's “I Capuleti ei Montecchi” tells the story of Romeo and Juliet and the family feud that makes it impossible for them to live out their eternal love in this world. But not as blossoming love, but in the dramatic description of the last earthly day of a solid couple. The master of bel canto combines his long arcs of melody so directly with the emotions of his characters that every emotion gains space and his vision becomes reality: music “that expresses the word in the narrowest way”. With exquisite musical beauty and attraction, the most famous lovers in the world conquered the stages of Düsseldorf and Duisburg in a concert performance under the musical direction of Davide Crescenti.
