"Heaven open, life unbound, the universe as your homeland and your will as the law." (Henri Meilhac / Ludovic Halévy) — At the center of the music theater project "I am Carmen" is the mezzo-soprano Hasti Molavian, who was born in Iran and trained in Germany. Your autobiographical strands of experience are linked associatively with the themes and motifs from Bizet's opera Carmen. Social and gender images of both worlds are questioned using new image-sound compositions - between Bizet, Persian chanting, original Tehran locations and personal spaces of memory.
