The opera was written in 1816, in this stage version it was staged in Perm in 2010

One of the most frequently performed operas by Rossini. The libretto is based on a story borrowed from the satirist-playwright Beaumarchais about Count Almaviva and the resourceful barber Figaro, who helps his patron marry the lovely Rosina despite the machinations of her voluptuous guardian. In the director's version of Valeria Borodina, the plot of the opera is removed from the time of its writing and transposed into the modern key. Applying the classic “theater within theater” technique, the director uses the collisions of the eighteenth century libretto to tell about the theater of our era
