“Earlier, the theater was a mirror of life and its reflection. Now the theater has become our world, and real life is an illusion and a terrible dream , - says production director Dmitry Bertman. –  Life is an ominous “grill” in which the destinies of people are fried .”
Everything that happens on stage seems so real that it takes your breath away. The feelings of the heroes of the opera are by no means theatrical. They are as authentic as the tears of the audience. Nearby, in the stylized ruins of Palmyra, there is an illusion theater in which artists live through theatrical suffering, feelings, love. And everything is controlled by the great and beautiful music of Verdi ...
The musical part of the performance is in charge of the Spanish maestro Oliver Diaz, who was invited to Russia especially for this production. The choice of the conductor turned out to be a 100% success of the theatre. “Helikon's Troubadour is filled with life, color, and the orchestra sounds juicy, energetic, passionate in Italian ,” says Oliver Diaz. – One of the most important words in Italian drama is “vendetta”.
