The rock opera "Jesus Christ Superstar" by composer Andrew Lloyd Webber to words by Tim Rice is one of the most famous works of the "rock opera" genre, which does not need not only advertising, but often even a presentation. 

Staged by the Mari State Opera and Ballet Theater. E. Sapaeva "Jesus Christ - Superstar" is a grandiose canvas, where the dramatic intensity makes the viewer tremble. The scale of the scenery, the light, the sound of the orchestra and the magnificent vocals of the soloists - everything merged into a single burst of art. This is a play about human passions, about doubts, about the volatility of the crowd and about a person who has taken upon himself the cross of service to people and God. People are the main problem of life, they are the ones who create Hell, Hell on earth. The text of the opera is about this, it is clearly expressed in the music, and modern choreography - contemporary dance - asymmetric, asynchronous further emphasizes these human traits.
The rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar is undoubtedly a landmark
premiere for the theater, for spectators and for the cultural life of the Republic of Mari El.
