With the figure of Medea, one of the great figures of Greek legends is the focus of this year's Baroque Days at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden. In addition to the Medea operas by Marc-Antoine Charpentier and Luigi Cherubini, which can be experienced in the opera house, Georg Anton Benda's rarely heard melodrama will also be performed in concert with the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin in the Pierre Boulez Saal. In addition, Jordi Savall and other early music specialists present vocal and instrumental compositions by Charpentier, Giacomo Carissimi, Alessandro Stradella and others.

Mit der Figur der Medea steht eine der großen Gestalten der griechischen Sagenwelt im Mittelpunkt der diesjährigen Barocktage der Staatsoper Unter den Linden. Neben den Medea-Opern von Marc-Antoine Charpentier und Luigi Cherubini, die im Opernhaus zu erleben sind, kommt im Pierre Boulez Saal auch Georg Anton Bendas selten zu hörendes Melodram mit der Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin konzertant zur Aufführung. Außerdem präsentieren Jordi Savall und weitere Spezialist:innen der Alten Musik Vokal- und Instrumentalkompositionen von Charpentier, Giacomo Carissimi, Alessandro Stradella und anderen.
