Ensemble Camerata Garestinbrings together leading Croatian vocal and instrumental interpreters of 17th and 18th century music. It was founded in 2008 at the instigation of cellist Krešimir Lazar from Varaždin, along with co-founders soprano Ivana Lazar, flautist Danij Bošnjak and harpsichordist and organist Krešimir Has. It is composed of musicians whose rich experience has been contributing to the cultural and artistic life of the Republic of Croatia for a long time. This contribution of the members of the ensemble has been recognized on several occasions by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia, which supports the work of the ensemble to a considerable extent. Camerata Garestin has already received very favorable reviews, for example, at the central Croatian baroque music festival Varaždin Baroque Evening. The ensemble also performed at the prestigious international baroque music festival SEVIQC in Brežice and at the Croatian Music Festival in Vienna, performing in the famous Hofburgkapelle. Camerata Garestin is probably the first Croatian early music ensemble professionally engaged in the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Voorshoten, Den Haag, 2014), and has also performed in Sweden, Slovakia, Germany, Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Ensemble members play music on replicas of baroque instruments. With its name, the ensemble also cherishes the Croatian historical heritage by taking the medieval name of the city of Varaždin - Garestin, and is particularly connected to the international festival of Varaždin Baroque Evenings, performing at it regularly since its foundation. The program direction of the ensemble aims to present thematic concert projects, showing the top works of European and Croatian masters of the High Renaissance, gallant style, Rococo, and music of the earlier classical style. The ensemble pays special attention to the Croatian musical heritage with an emphasis on the works of Ivan Marko Lukačić, Vinko Jelic, Gabriel Puliti, Tomas Cecchini and Ivan Šibenčanin. The ensemble was awarded the Jurica Murai Award as part of the 47th Varaždin Baroque Evenings. Ansambl Camerata Garestin okuplja vodeće hrvatske vokalne i instrumentalne interprete glazbe 17. i 18. stoljeća. Osnovan je 2008. godine na poticaj varaždinskog violončelista Krešimira Lazara, uz suosnivače sopranisticu Ivanu Lazar, flautista Danija Bošnjaka te čembalista i orguljaša Krešimira Hasa. Sastavljen je od glazbenika čije bogato iskustvo već dulje vrijeme doprinosi kulturnom i umjetničkom životu Republike Hrvatske. Taj doprinos članova ansambla u više je navrata prepoznalo Ministarstvo kulture Rebublike Hrvatske koje u znatnoj mjeri i podupire rad ansambla. Camerata Garestin već je popraćena veoma pohvalnim recenzijama, primjerice, na centralnom hrvatskom festivalu barokne glazbe Varaždinske barokne večeri. Ansambl je gostovao i na prestižnom međunarodnom festivalu barokne glazbe SEVIQC Brežice te na Festivalu hrvatske glazbe u Beču nastupajući u glasovitoj Hofburgkapelle. Camerata Garestin je vjerojatno i prvi hrvatski ansambl za staru glazbu profesionalno angažiran u Kraljevini Nizozemskoj (Voorshoten, den Haag, 2014.), a gostovao je i u Švedskoj, Slovačkoj, Njemačkoj, Austriji te Bosni i Hercegovini. Članovi ansambla muziciraju na replikama baroknih instrumenata. Svojim nazivom ansambl njeguje i hrvatsku povijesnu baštinu preuzimajući srednjovjekovno ime grada Varaždina – Garestin, a osobito je vezan baš uz međunarodni festival Varaždinske barokne večeri nastupajući na njemu redovito od svog osnutka. Programska smjernica ansambla teži prikazu tematskih koncertnih projekata prikazujući tako vrhunska djela europskih i hrvatskih majstora visoke renesanse, galantnog stila, rokokoa te glazbu ranijeg klasičnog stila. Osobitom pažnjom ansambl njeguje upravo hrvatsku glazbenu baštinu s naglaskom na djelima Ivana Marka Lukačića, Vinka Jelića, Gabriela Pulitija, Tomasa Cecchinija te Ivana Šibenčanina. Ansambl je u sklopu 47. Varaždinskih baroknih večeri nagrađen Nagradom Jurica Murai. Godine 2018. ansambl je, sa solističkom ulogom Ivane Lazar, snimio i tonski zapis Vulnerasti cor meum s djelima hrvatskih ranobaroknih majstora.
