Unser Chefdirigent Christoph Eschenbach lotet Gustav Mahlers Sinfonie Nr. 2 aus, die von den letzten Dingen handelt: Sinn und Sinnlosigkeit des Lebens, Tod – und dann? Von 1888 bis 1894 komponierte Mahler seine am Ende tröstliche Antwort und notierte als Verständnishilfe zum letzten Satz: „… es ist nicht Strafe und nicht Lohn!
