La bella Helena
An adaptation of Jacques Offenbach's classic made by China Zorrilla and Taco Larreta, closing a year of tributes and celebration for its centenary. With the stage direction Rita Cosentino and the music of the Montevideo Symphonic Band under the direction of Martín Jorge, together with the National Comedy and outstanding national lyrical voices.

This 19th-century buffoon operetta humorously and sarcastically parodies Helen's flight with Paris from the Trojan War, using Greek mythology as a tool for analysis and criticism of French society during the Second Empire.

On stage Claudia Rossi and Julio Reolón in the roles of Helena and Paris, together with Juan Antonio Saraví, Ariel Caldarelli, Ariel Cazes and Agustín Pennino.

Enrique Boldorini will be in charge of the set design, while José Luis Fiorruccio will do the lighting design. Both arrive especially from the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires for the performance. The renowned Uruguayan designer and costume designer, Nelson Mancebo, will have the costume design in his hands.

A great show for the whole family, a closing of the year that reconstructs the historical version of China Zorrilla and Taco Larreta, more than 30 years after its last premiere in Montevideo.

La bella Helena
Una adaptación del clásico de Jacques Offenbach realizada por China Zorrilla y Taco Larreta, cerrando un año de homenajes y celebración por su centenario. Con la dirección escénica Rita Cosentino y la música de la Banda Sinfónica de Montevideo bajo la dirección de Martín Jorge, junto a la Comedia Nacional y destacadas voces líricas nacionales.

Esta opereta bufa del siglo XIX parodia con humor y sarcasmo la huida de Helena con Paris de la guerra de Troya, utilizando la mitología griega como herramienta para un análisis y crítica a la sociedad francesa del Segundo Imperio.

En escena Claudia Rossi y Julio Reolón en los roles de Helena y Paris, junto a Juan Antonio Saraví, Ariel Caldarelli, Ariel Cazes y Agustín Pennino.

Enrique Boldorini estará al frente del diseño escenográfico, mientras que José Luis Fiorruccio lo hará en el diseño de iluminación. Ambos llegan especialmente desde el Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires para la realización. El reconocido diseñador y vestuarista uruguayo, Nelson Mancebo, tendrá en sus manos el diseño de vestuario.

Un gran espectáculo para toda la familia, un cierre de año que reconstruye la versión histórica de China Zorrilla y Taco Larreta, a más de 30 años de su último estreno en Montevideo.
