Write a synopsis on Bohemian Life? An ungrateful task, as who would not know the story of the four bohemians, the intertwined loves, the arc of beautiful and happy times turning into a sad tragedy? Puccini was a genius. All its melodies and harmony perfectly paint the four penniless, poor bohemian characters, the excitement of the minutes of the story, the deep, sincere, loving, and selfless relationship between Mimi and Musetta. The four bohemians — Rodolf the poet, Macello the painter, Colline the philosopher, and Schaunard the musician — plunge into Mimi’s fiercely hilarious scene just as the poet mourns not feeling the kiss of the muse on his forehead. From that moment on, when Mimi accidentally (?) Drops the key to his room and Rodolf also accidentally (?) Grabs Mimi's hand, the plot rolls unstoppably towards happiness and tragedy. The genre of synopsis does not allow for long-term analyzes and explanations. If you delve deeper into the music, text, content, you may find a lot of question marks in parentheses. Why does Mimi tell Rodolf in the fifth minute of their relationship, “I live in quiet solitude”? Are the four bohemians gifted, as they are miserable, and of them only Schaunard, who gets money to send a parrot to eternal slumber by playing his piano, and Macello, to sway the wall of a pub? Where's Rodolf's talent? What kind of person is Rodolf, who, when he finds out that Mimi is terminally ill, mourns the fact that he has no money for a tree and is divorced from his love (?) Rather? Why don't you bring down the starry sky, to save your love? After their divorce, why does Mimi accept the support of a rich gentleman? Why do you go back to the four bohemian cold attic rooms? If you want to get to know this “well-known” opera even better, don't miss a single Bohemian performance at the Pécs National Theater.
