Tribute to the 150th anniversary of the death of Rossini.

La cambiale di matrimonio is a musical farce in one act by Gioachino Rossini on the libretto by Gaetano Rossi, premiered on November 3, 1810 at the San Moisè theater in Venice; in Spain it premiered in 1816 in Barcelona.

Composed when he was 18 years old, La cambiale di matrimonio was Rossini's first professional opera. The overture is the only part of the work that remains in the modern concert repertoire, as the complete work is rarely performed. As would be typical of Rossini's later career, the duet "Dunque io hijo" was later reused in Act I of The Barber of Seville.
Set in London, it is a sitcom with a wild succession of cavatinas, duettos, trios, arias and small recitatives, around an arranged marriage, secret lovers and efforts to achieve both happiness and money.

A Hand of Bridge , Op. 35, is a one-act opera with music by Samuel Barber and an English libretto by Gian Carlo Menotti . It is possibly the shortest opera that is performed regularly, lasting less than ten minutes. It consists of two couples playing a hand of bridge , during which each character has a short arietta in which he or she sings a monologue . The first performance took place at the Festival of the Two Worlds in Spoleto on June 17, 1959.

La cambiale di matrimonio es una farsa musical en un acto de Gioachino Rossini sobre el libreto de Gaetano Rossi, estrenada el 3 de noviembre de 1810 en el teatro San Moisè en Venecia; en España se estrenó en 1816 en Barcelona.

Compuesta cuando tenía 18 años, La cambiale di matrimonio fue la primera ópera profesional de Rossini. La obertura es la única parte de la obra que se mantiene en el repertorio de concierto moderno, ya que la obra completa se representa muy poco. Como sería típico de la carrera posterior de Rossini, el dúo «Dunque io hijo» fue reutilizado posteriormente en el acto I de El barbero de Sevilla.
Ambientada en Londres, se trata de una comedia de enredo con una sucesión desenfrenada de cavatinas, duettos, tríos, arias y pequeños recitativos, en torno a un matrimonio acordado, unos amantes secretos y los esfuerzos para lograr a la vez felicidad y dinero.

A Hand of Bridge, Op. 35, es una ópera en un solo acto con música de Samuel Barber y libreto en inglés de Gian Carlo Menotti. Es posiblemente la ópera más breve que se interpreta regulasrmente, dura menos de diez minutos. Está formada por dos parejas jugando una mano de bridge, durante la cual cada personaje tiene una breve arietta en la que él o ella canta un monólogo. La primera representación tuvo lugar en el Festival de los Dos Mundos en Spoleto el 17 de junio de 1959.
