" The posterity will see that bijou !"

It will be presented with an installation resulting from a collaboration with the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the work that Puccini composed between May 1914 and April 1916 for the Carltheater in Vienna, but which, due to the war, did not go on stage in Vienna. but it saw its premiere in Montecarlo in 1917.

After the lukewarm reception that the work received in Bologna, on the occasion of the Italian premiere, a few months after the triumph in Montecarlo on March 27, 1917, Puccini said: " Posterity will see che bijou !" La Rondine is certainly not a “minor work” as many have defined this Puccini work which indeed belongs to the full artistic maturity of the Maestro, with many references to the production of European operas and operettas, and to musicians such as Massenet, Léhar and Offenbach.

The protagonist of the opera, Magda, loves the Parisian social life and aspires to a romantic and passionate love.

The staging presented at Torre del Lago is directed by Denis Krief and directed by Robert Trevino

“Vedranno i posteri che bijou!”

Sarà presentata con un allestimento frutto di una collaborazione con il Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, l’opera che Puccini compose tra il maggio del 1914 e l’aprile del 1916 per il Carltheater di Vienna, ma che a causa della guerra non andò in scena a Vienna ma vide la sua prima a Montecarlo nel 1917.

Dopo la tiepida accoglienza che l’opera ottenne a Bologna, in occasione della prima italiana, pochi mesi dopo il trionfo a Montecarlo del 27 marzo 1917, Puccini ebbe a dire: “Vedranno i posteri che bijou!” La Rondine non è certo “opera minore” come in tanti hanno definito questo lavoro pucciniano che anzi appartiene alla piena maturità artistica del Maestro, con tanti riferimenti alla produzione d’opera e operette europee, e a musicisti quali Massenet, Léhar e Offenbach.

Protagonista dell’opera, Magda, ama la vita mondana parigina e aspira a un amore romantico e passionale.

L’allestimento presentato a Torre del Lago vede la regia di Denis Krief e la direzione di Robert Trevino
