Dramma giocoso means joking drama. This genre subtitle is also carried, for example, by two of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's top operas - Don Giovanni and Così fan tutte. And Salieri's School of the Jealous is closely related to this opera. It is also a comedy from the 18th century about partner relationships, which indulges in disguises and situational humor in the spirit of Carlo Goldoni. In its time, it became one of the most popular operas of the famous imperial court bandleader, when 60 productions of opera houses from Lisbon to Moscow were created over the course of three decades. The focus of the plot is the exam, which is directed by someone else - and is very reminiscent of the opera based on Lorenzo da Ponte's libretto Così fan tutte. The School of the Jealous, however, is far more frivolous, filled with extreme outbursts of loving passion and jealousy, but also contrastingly cold indifference within three couples of different social statuses. We present it in the original Italian with Czech and English subtitles.

Dramma giocoso znamená v překladu žertovné drama. Tento žánrový podtitul nesou například i dvě vrcholné opery Wolfganga Amadea Mozarta – Don Giovanni a Così fan tutte. A právě k této opeře má námětově blízko i Salieriho Škola žárlivých. Je to rovněž komedie z 18. století o partnerských vztazích, která hýří převleky i situačním humorem v duchu Carla Goldoniho. Ve své době se stala jednou z nejpopulárnějších oper slavného císařského dvorního kapelníka, kdy bylo v průběhu tří dekád vytvořeno 60 inscenací operních domů od Lisabonu až po Moskvu. Těžištěm děje je zkouška, kterou režíruje někdo další – a velice připomíná již operu na libreto Lorenza da Ponteho Così fan tutte. Škola žárlivých je však daleko frivolnější, naplněná extrémními výbuchy láskyplné vášně i žárlivosti, ale také kontrastně chladnou lhostejností v rámci tří párů rozdílných společenských postavení.
