French writer Alexandre Dumas sighed after watching the opera "La Traviata": "After a hundred years, my play may not be performed again, but the opera "La Traviata" will last forever." As predicted by Dumas fils, the opera "La Traviata" created by Italian opera master Verdi in 1853 has become one of the most frequently performed operas in major opera houses in the world for more than 160 years. Verdi's sympathetic recounting of the courtesan Violetta's longing for love, a love marred and destroyed by social prejudice, never fails to stir the audience's passion. The classic re-singing "Drinking Song" in the play, the hero and heroine's aria "A Kind of Happiness", "Farewell, Sweet Dreams of the Past" and other well-known arias are deeply loved by the audience.
  
  
  
  In 2010, the National Center for the Performing Arts version of La Traviata premiered under the baton of master conductor Lorraine Maazel, and received high praise from inside and outside the industry for its high artistic quality and exquisite stage presentation. Director Henin Brockhouse, together with a world-class creative team, created a romantic mood intertwined with reality and fantasy for this play, as if bringing the audience back to Paris in the 19th century.
