the story
Violetta, a famous Parisian courtesan delights in her role as a "perverted" woman. She gets dizzy in luxury and pleasures to forget the terrible disease that the threat. During one of the parties she gives at her house, Violetta falls under the spell of Alfredo Germont, a young provincial. This sincere love diverts her from her dissolute life. Far from the turpitudes of the capital, she retires with Alfredo in the countryside where she hopes to lead a life without task. But Alfredo's father comes to beg her to break up a scandalous liaison which makes impossible the marriage of the Alfredo's younger sister...

La Traviata is undoubtedly the only opera totally inscribed in the 19th century and in same timeless. That's why I created it at the both with period costumes and at the same time in a very contemporary decor, with a large parquet floor elegant and cold. But it is above all an opera which is placed under the aegis of a double moral where a woman serves the interests of a man of high society. So much that she will do it successfully, she will benefit from a life easy. If she deviates from her role, she will be ejected. as such, it is a theme of yesterday, today and probably tomorrow… Andreas Homoki
