Lahav Shani on Paul Ben-Haim's Symphony no. 1, which he will conduct in a series of concerts that also features pianist Martha Argerich in Ravel's Piano Concerto in G and Stravinsky's The Firebird.
The first concert will take place on Tuesday, 31.12, at 7 p.m., at the Charles Bronfman Auditorium in Tel-Aviv.

Der Spielzeitauftakt im Konzerthaus Dortmund ist immer ein besonderes Ereignis. Doch in der Saison 2023/24 feiern wir zudem noch ein Konzerthaus-Debüt: Exklusivkünstler Lahav Shani holt das berühmte Israel Philharmonic Orchestra erstmals nach Dortmund. Passend zum feierlichen Einstand ist auch ihr Programm voller Erstlinge. Bevor der Abend mit Mahlers Erster einen fulminanten Abschluss findet, erleben wir mit ›Psalm‹ den populärsten Satz aus der Ersten Sinfonie von Paul Ben-Haim und mit Sopranistin Hila Baggio die Deutsche Erstaufführung eines neuen Werks von Betty Olivero.

The start of the season in the Dortmund Concert Hall is always a special event. But in the 2023/24 season we are also celebrating a concert hall debut: exclusive artist Lahav Shani is bringing the famous Israel Philharmonic Orchestra to Dortmund for the first time. Matching the celebratory debut, their program is also full of debuts. Before the evening comes to a brilliant conclusion with Mahler's First, we experience the most popular movement from Paul Ben-Haim's First Symphony with ›Psalm‹ and the German premiere of a new work by Betty Olivero with soprano Hila Baggio.
