LE DÉSERT présente en effet une quête existentielle dans un décor hostile et sans limites. L’histoire en soit est très simple: trois nouveaux personnages sont perdus dans un désert.Dans la première partie, trois soldats, deux femmes et un homme sont en proie à leurs peurs et à leurs questionnements, perdus en pleine guerre. Ils traversent des épreuves et se retrouvent dans des situations traditionnelles de l’imaginaire lié au désert - celui des anciennes histoires religieuses, de l’univers des contes des Mille et Une Nuits, des films de guerre. Le fulgurant contraste de la seconde partie place les acteurs dans une petite ville de province, dans une zone à cheval entre la ville et la campagne, autre lieu d’isolement que l’on connaît dans notre monde moderne, celui des pavillons de banlieue. On y décrit différents moments de la vie amoureuse de deux des protagonistes.

LE DESERT indeed presents an existential quest in a hostile and limitless setting. 

The story itself is very simple: three new characters are lost in a desert.

In the first part, three soldiers, two women and a man are prey to their fears and their questions, lost in the middle of the war. They go through hardships and find themselves in traditional situations of the imaginary linked to the desert - that of ancient religious stories, the universe of the Arabian Nights tales, war films. The dazzling contrast of the second part places the actors in a small provincial town, in an area straddling the city and the countryside, another place of isolation that we know in our modern world, that of suburban houses. It describes different moments in the love life of two of the protagonists.
