Soprano Amel Brahim-Djelloul pursues her luminous and singular path, rich in her two cultures. Performing on the greatest European lyrical stages, she nevertheless remains faithful to her Algerian origins. On the occasion of this concert dedicated to the songs of Kabylie, she pays tribute to the music of her native country and shares this unique experience and this look of an opera singer on a culture and a music which also accompanied her. since his childhood.
Presentation
For this poetic and musical journey, she surrounds herself with musicians mixing Western and Eastern traditions and lends her voice to the most beautiful songs of Idir, Djamel Allam, Djurdjura or Taos Amrouche. Echoing this, the compositions of Thomas Keck on texts by the poet Rezki Rabia give life to original creations reflecting all the richness of the Berber language and culture. The title of the concert Les Chemins qui Montent evokes the third novel by Mouloud Feraoun, one of the great writers of Kabyle origin who knew how, through his work, to describe the harsh life in Kabylia in his time.

La soprano Amel Brahim-Djelloul poursuit son chemin lumineux et singulier, riche de ses deux cultures. Se produisant sur les plus grandes scènes lyriques européennes, elle n’en reste pas moins fidèle à ses origines algériennes. À l’occasion de ce concert consacré aux chants de Kabylie, elle rend hommage à la musique de son pays natal et partage cette expérience unique et ce regard d’une chanteuse d’opéra sur une culture et une musique qui l’ont aussi accompagnée depuis son enfance.
Présentation
Pour ce voyage poétique et musical, elle s’entoure de musiciens mêlant traditions occidentales et orientales et prête sa voix aux plus belles chansons d’Idir, de Djamel Allam, de Djurdjura ou de Taos Amrouche. En écho, les compositions de Thomas Keck sur des textes du poète Rezki Rabia donnent vie à des créations originales reflétant toute la richesse de la langue et de la culture berbère. Le titre du concert Les Chemins qui montent évoque le troisième roman de Mouloud Feraoun, un des grands écrivains d’origine kabyle qui a su, à travers son œuvre, décrire la dure vie en Kabylie à son époque.
