"Pur ti miro" is considered one of the most beautiful duets in the history of music. But what does it sound when the couple Nero and Poppea perform it on a stage covered in bloodstains? Norwegian director Ole Anders Tandberg stages his "Poppea" in Oslo as a mind-bending crime thriller with black and white scenery, making the red blood stand out all the more violently. The contrast between the music and the staging is fascinating, offering up profound insights into  the human soul on the themes of love, jealousy and suffering.
