L'inondation Francesco Filidei

With The Flood , Joël Pommerat, whose precise and striking work is familiar to the public ( Ça ira (1) Fin de Louis , 2016), signs his first opera libretto, based on the eponymous short story by Evgueni Zamiatine , conceived in close collaboration with the composer Francesco Filidei, writing and music advancing in a joint and organic way. The opera tells a stormy love story, of jealousy, of furious passion, between a couple and a young woman who upsets the latter's daily life, then mysteriously disappears following a flood. The Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Leonhard Garms, plays the score of this work which inaugurates new collusions between opera and theater for this revival at the Opéra Comique and the Théâtres de la Ville.

Avec L’inondation, Joël Pommerat, dont le public connaît le travail précis et saisissant (Ça ira (1) Fin de Louis, 2016), signe son premier livret d’opéra, basé sur la nouvelle éponyme d'Evgueni Zamiatine, conçu en étroite collaboration avec le compositeur Francesco Filidei, écriture et musique avançant de façon conjointe et organique. L’opéra raconte une histoire d’amour tempétueuse, de jalousie, de passion furieuse, entre un couple et une jeune femme qui bouleverse le quotidien de ce dernier, puis disparaît mystérieusement à la suite d’une inondation. L’Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg, dirigé par Leonhard Garms, joue la partition de cette œuvre qui inaugure de nouvelles connivences entre opéra et théâtre pour cette reprise à l’Opéra Comique et aux Théâtres de la Ville.
