With sixteen Italian operas, Joseph Haydn composed as many operas as Mozart! With L'Isola Disabitata , you will meet Costanza and his younger sister Silvia who were abandoned after being shipwrecked on a “deserted island”. After thirteen years, Costanza's husband Gernando and his young friend Enrico land on the island, but their reunion will be delayed by various misunderstandings. The work is concise, rich in colors and expressive nuances that allow the four characters, caught in the turmoil to express a wide range of feelings. As an exceptional pianist was needed for this concert version, the mission was entrusted to Philippe Cassard, an accomplished artist, admirable both for his recitals and for his recordings (more than 30 titles), or even his programs “Family portraits” on France Music.
