L'oca del Cairo -  (The Cairo Goose)

L'Oie du Caire is an unfinished comic opera by WA Mozart which was written between the abduction from the seraglio and the wedding of Figaro.  The score was found around 1850 by someone close to Jacques Offenbach and a French libretto was rewritten to make the story more theatrical by Mr Wilder.  All the music is by Mozart, only the libretto has been reworked to make the work compatible with the theatre.

 This version was performed on August 3, 2019 at the Château du Hamel de Castets en Dorthe in Gironde by the troupe of the Bouffes Lyriques de Garonne (ex Opéra de Barie).  This work came after Fleurette by Jacques Offenbach played the same evening...
