Get in, come with me! This August, the RathausOper will embark on a hilarious operatic road trip to Naples with Rossini's comical one-act play. After an unexpected mix-up of luggage and subsequently people, a crazy hustle and bustle about love and false identities begins. Look forward to an enjoyable confusion game with rousing music, a pleasure not only for all opera lovers: inside.

 

It begins as it must begin: lightning and thunder, two suitcases are swapped. The rascal Don Parmenione slips into the role of the groom Conte Alberto in order to win over the attractive bride Berenice. Supported by the bumbling servant Martino, however, he gets to Berenice's maid Ernestina, and even Berenice's uncle Don Eusebio has no perspective.

 

With Roberto Gionfriddo - member of the ensemble at the Theater Freiburg - last year's title tenor could be won as Don Eusebio. His niece Berenice will be sung by the soprano Andrea Suter, well known to the audience at the RathausOper. The soprano Maria Reina Navarro Crespo, who lives in Constance, will be heard for the first time. She is given the role of Ernestina. Tenor Christian Camino will be heard as Conte Alberto. As his opponent, the bass Nicola Ziccardi will embody the role of Don Parmenione, supported by Matias Bocchio as the servant Martino.

 

The musical direction is again in the experienced hands of Eckart Manke. Daniel Grünauer is directing for the third time in the Rathaushof. Joachim Steiner and his team are responsible for the equipment. Shara Werschke takes over the lighting design and technology for her 20th RathausOper anniversary. In August, opera fans in Konstanz and the surrounding area can look forward to a fun chamber opera with wonderful music, performed by the chamber orchestra of the RathausOper and first-class soloists. The premiere will take place on August 19, 2022 at 8.45 p.m. in the inner courtyard of the town hall, five more performances will follow.
