Diesen Sommer präsentiert die Pocket Opera Company erstmals Christoph Willibald Glucks wohl bekanntestes und beliebtestes Werk „Orfeo ed Euridice“ (1762) als mobile Opernaufführung in Nürnberg, u.a. auf dem Friedhof St. Peter. Die musikalischen Qualitäten dieses Geniestreiches sind unbestritten und zeitlos. Aber gibt es denn überhaupt noch etwas Neues im antiken Seelendrama aus der griechischen Mythologie zu entdecken, das Orpheus, den einzigartigen Sänger und „King of Leier“, auf der Suche nach seiner verstorbenen Eurydike in die Unterwelt begleitet? Aber sicher doch! Um die Nürnberger Peterskapelle wandelt ein gefährlicher Schatten, der nur auf den Augenblick wartet, dem Liebespaar auf den Zahn zu fühlen. Zwischen Gotteshaus und Gottesacker steht die Wiederkehr aus dem Jenseits mehr als einmal auf Messers Schneide und nimmt das Publikum mit auf eine Reise zwischen Himmel und Hölle. 2019 im Rahmen der Internationalen Gluckfestspiele als Opernwanderung in Glucks Geburtsstadt Berching aufgeführt, gibt es die Produktion nun endlich auch in Nürnberg zu erleben.

This summer, the Pocket Opera Company is presenting Christoph Willibald Gluck's most well-known and popular work “Orfeo ed Euridice” (1762) for the first time as a mobile opera performance in Nuremberg, including at St. Peter's Cemetery. The musical qualities of this stroke of genius are undisputed and timeless. But is there still anything new to discover in the ancient drama of the soul from Greek mythology, which accompanies Orpheus, the unique singer and "King of Lyre", to the underworld in search of his deceased Eurydice? Of course! A dangerous shadow wanders around Nuremberg's St. Peter's Chapel, just waiting for the moment to sound out the lovers. Between the house of God and the field of God, the return from the afterlife is more than once on the razor's edge and takes the audience on a journey between heaven and hell. Performed in 2019 as part of the International Gluck Festival as an opera tour in Gluck's native town of Berching, the production can finally be experienced in Nuremberg.
