It was December 5, 1791 in the early hours of the morning when a "hot Friesel fever" took Mozart away. One of his most important works had to remain unfinished: the Requiem. It is "an admirably rendered sort of spiritual testament to the deep human turmoil in the face of the mystery of death," says Jordi Savall. The conductor and music researcher created his own version of the touching funeral mass and, in addition to orienting himself towards the sound ideals of Mozart's time, set himself the goal of "allowing the spirit of Mozart to shine through with the greatest possible purity." Savall put Mozart's before the Requiem Jupiter - symphony, which also marks the end of his work: it is his last symphony and summarizes all his symphonic mastery.
