The appointment of the State Orchestra of Athens with the audience of the Megaros on New Year's Eve is an established musical institution, inextricably linked to the festive season and the joyous welcome of the New Year. This year, the subject of the long-awaited New Year's gala is French opera. Which, for some, may be less known and widespread than the Italian, but that doesn't mean it doesn't contain many charming arias and brilliant orchestral passages. Many of them, among the most recognizable and entertaining, will be heard at the gala by four eminent lyric singers under the expert guidance of conductor Myron Michaelidis.

Το ραντεβού της Κρατικής Ορχήστρας Αθηνών με το κοινό του Μεγάρου την προπαραμονή της Πρωτοχρονιάς είναι ένας καθιερωμένος μουσικός θεσμός, άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένος με την εορταστική περίοδο και τη χαρμόσυνη υποδοχή του Νέου Έτους. Φέτος, το αντικείμενο του πολυαναμενόμενου πρωτοχρονιάτικου γκαλά είναι η γαλλική όπερα. Η οποία, για ορισμένους, ίσως είναι λιγότερο γνωστή και διαδεδομένη σε σχέση με την ιταλική, αλλά αυτό δεν σημαίνει ότι δεν εμπεριέχει πλείστες γοητευτικές άριες και ολόλαμπρα ορχηστρικά αποσπάσματα. Πολλά από αυτά, από τα πλέον αναγνωρίσιμα και ψυχαγωγικά, θα ακουστούν στο γκαλά από τέσσερις επιφανείς λυρικούς τραγουδιστές υπό την έμπειρη καθοδήγηση του μαέστρου Μύρων Μιχαηλίδη.
