Den franska violinisten Florence Magloire är djupt förankrad i barockmusiken, och har så varit genom hela karriären. Hon är känd för sitt arbete med flera av de främsta ensemblerna på området, som Les Arts Florissants och Les Talens Lyriques. Under 2000-talet grundade hon bland annat egna Les Dominos.

Magloire gästar nu för första gången Orfeus Barock, och det sker passande nog med en djupdykning i fransk barock. Vi hör bland annat två verk av den innovative Jean-Féry Rebel – en tonsättare som lever upp till associationerna som efternamnet ger. Les élémens är förmodligen hans djärvaste och mest kända verk. Det är en musikalisk beskrivning av skapelsen, som börjar med ett ”kaos” där man snarast påminns om 1900-talets avantgarde!

Den kritikerrosade ensemblen Orfeus Barock samarbetar regelbundet med framstående gäster ur det internationella barockmusiklivet. Konstnärliga ledare är Kungliga Filharmonikernas solocellist Johannes Rostamo samt konsertmästaren och barockviolinisten Elin Gabrielsson, medlem i bland annat italienska Europa Galante.

The French violinist Florence Magloire is deeply rooted in baroque music, and has been so throughout her career. She is known for her work with several of the leading ensembles in the field, such as Les Arts Florissants and Les Talens Lyriques. During the 2000s, she founded, among other things, her own Les Dominos.

Magloire now visits Orfeus Barock for the first time, and fittingly enough, it takes place with a deep dive into French Baroque. Among other things, we hear two works by the innovative Jean-Féry Rebel – a composer who lives up to the associations that the surname gives. Les élémens is probably his boldest and most famous work. It is a musical description of creation, which begins with a "chaos" where one is immediately reminded of the avant-garde of the 20th century!

The critically acclaimed ensemble Orfeus Barock regularly collaborates with prominent guests from the international baroque music scene. The artistic directors are the Royal Philharmonic's solo cellist Johannes Rostamo and the concertmaster and baroque violinist Elin Gabrielsson, a member of, among others, the Italian Europa Galante.
