Orpheus and Eurydice were a dream couple. But now they've had enough of each other. They need space and want to get divorced. The lovers are ready. Only "public opinion" has something against it. Can the audience influence the course of the divorce - and maybe even the play?

Jacques Offenbach's "Orpheus in the Underworld" parodies the Greek legend of Orpheus and Eurydice and at the same time exposes the double standards of the better society of the French Empire. The special mixture of humor and criticism is taken by the director Kerstin Steeb, who is already at the Opernloft for the third time staged, under the magnifying glass. The Corona-compatible format with a singer becomes a workshop production that radically questions "Orpheus in the Underworld" with regard to its current relevance.
