The Passion by the renowned composer Wolfgang Rihm is one of the most important settings of the Passion of Jesus of the 20th century. Their harrowing music reaches listeners worldwide and makes the events of the Passion impressively audible.

In addition to the old Bible text, Wolfgang Rihm also sets Paul Celan's famous poem "Tenebrae" to music. The 2000-year-old story is thus placed in the context of the 20th century extermination of the Jews.
The anti-Semitism that is constantly taking place today and the worldwide warlike situations give Rihm's impressive sounds a dramatic topicality.

Die Passion des renommierten Komponisten Wolfgang Rihm gehört zu den wichtigsten Vertonungen der Leidensgeschichte Jesu des 20. Jahrhunderts. Ihre erschütternde Musik erreicht Hörerinnen und Hörer weltweit und lässt das Passionsgeschehen eindrücklich hörbar werden.

Neben dem alten Bibeltext vertont Wolfgang Rihm noch Paul Celans berühmtes Gedicht "Tenebrae". Damit wird die 2000 Jahre alte Geschichte in den Kontext der Judenvernichtung des 20. Jahrhunderts gestellt.
Der heute immer wieder stattfindende Antisemitismus und die weltweiten kriegerischen Situationen geben den eindrücklichen Klängen Rihms eine dramatische Aktualität.
