Findus has a good life with Pettersson on the chicken yard, "because nothing is as good as chicken fussing over merry hangover souls". But in this children's opera, the popular tomcat faces a competitor! Ever since Pettersson saved the rooster Caruso from his neighbor Gustavsson's cooking pot, he has now become the proverbial rooster in the coop among the hens. But not only that, the cat doesn't have a minute's rest, because Caruso crows incessantly and in the highest tones. Pettersson also seems to be getting tired of it. Then Findus comes up with a malicious plan that brings peace again, but also the realization that a lie is not a good life. How can the Caruso problem be solved to everyone's satisfaction?

In a wonderfully varied operatic adaptation, Niclas Ramdohr and Holger Potocki pay tribute to the velvet-pawed tomcat. They never lose sight of the fun, so that the audience, both children and adults, are captivated from the first bar
