Natalya Romaniw (Lisa), Peter Wedd (Herman) and Rosalind Plowright (Countess) were praised in The Financial Times, The Guardian and The Spectator for their compelling performances as three characters in the grip of obsession in Rodula Gaitanou’s staging of The Queen of Spades.

Rupert Christiansen of The Daily Telegraph wrote that Peter Robinson conducted the City of London Sinfonia with aplomb in Tchaikovsky’s “Gothic spookiness, Tsarist splendour and romantic ardour”. Laura Woods, Grant Doyle, Richard Burkhard, Aled Hall and the Opera Holland Park Chorus made vital contributions to what Neil Fisher of The Times described as “one of the most consistent casts OHP has fielded to date” in the closing production of the 2016 Season.
