Then the New Year's Concert of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic is just right for you! The British conductor Russel Harris - an expert in symphonic jazz, classical musicals, film music and crossover concerts - invites you to a Chemnitz edition of the famous Last Night of the Proms , the London concert event where the audience breaks with supposedly strict concert conventions and at the final March Pomp and Circumstance No. 1 by Edward Elgar expresses his enthusiasm through clapping, flag waving and rhythmic squats. He is supported by tenor Randall Bills, who has already shone at the Chemnitz Opera as Prince Ramiro in La Cenerentola , by baritone Richard Morrison, who is a guest in opera houses and concert halls throughout Europe, and by the Irish bagpiper Mathew McKelvie.
