Μια ακόμα όπερα του Σπύρου Σαμάρα, η αριστουργηματική ««Medgé», παρουσιάζεται στη σκηνή του Ολύμπια, στα πλαίσια του αφιερώματος στον σπουδαίο Έλληνα συνθέτη του βερισμού. Μετά την αναβίωση της όπερας «Λιονέλλα», τον Μάιο του 2023, ο αρχιμουσικός Βύρων Φιδετζής, συνεχίζοντας την ανεκτίμητη προσφορά του στη διάδοση του λόγιου ελληνικού ρεπερτορίου, ενορχηστρώνει εκ νέου τη «Medgé», καθώς, όπως και στην περίπτωση της «Λιονέλλα», η ενορχήστρωση του Σαμάρα θεωρείται χαμένη. Η όπερα, που παρουσιάζεται στο πρωτότυπο γαλλικό λιμπρέτο του Pierre Elzéar, αποτελεί εντυπωσιακό επίτευγμα για τον μόλις 22 ετών Σαμάρα. Τον αστείρευτο μελωδικό πλούτο της ερμηνεύει μια εξαιρετική διανομή Ελλήνων και Γάλλων λυρικών τραγουδιστών.

Olympia is proud to resume the journey into the musical world of Spyros Samaras, the masterful Greek composer of Verism. After last year’s triumph of “Lionella”, conductor Byron Fidetzis assumes the challenge to present a new orchestration of the opera “Medgé”, since the original one is considered to be lost. The opera is sung in French, based on the original libretto by Pierre Elzéar , and it is an admirable achievement for the 22-year-old Samaras. The vigour and rich melodic invention of the score are to be performed by an exceptional cast of both Greek and French singers.
