At the end of 1913, the librettists Bela Jenbach and Leo Stein proposed to Imre Kalman the plot of an operetta entitled "Long Live Love!" In the process of work, the composer renamed it "Princess Czardas", and the premiere took place at the Vienna Johann Strauss Theater on November 17, 1915.

In Russia, it was staged in 1917 in St. Petersburg on the stage of the Winter Buff Theater under the name Silva.

 "Silva" was, is and always will be the number one operetta, its inspired melodies tell about the all-conquering power of love, which is not afraid of any obstacles.

According to the plot, the variety show artist Silva Varescu is in love with the young aristocrat Edwin, but marriage between them is impossible due to social inequality. Edwin's father has betrothed the young Countess Stacy for him, and the wedding is about to take place. But Stacy is in love with the young Count Boni and easily refuses the forced marriage at the first opportunity. The happiness of Silva and Edwin depends only on the blessing of their parents. And then an unexpected detail turns out: it turns out that Edwin's mother was also a variety show artist! ..

В конце 1913 года либреттисты Бела Йенбах и Лео Штайн предложили Имре Кальману сюжет оперетты под названием «Да здравствует любовь!» В процессе работы композитор переименовал ее в «Княгиню чардаша», и премьера состоялась в Венском Иоганн Штраус театре 17 ноября 1915 года.

В России она была поставлена в 1917 году в Петербурге на сцене театра «Зимний Буфф» под названием «Сильва».

 «Сильва» была, есть и всегда будет опереттой номер один, ее вдохновенные мелодии рассказывают о всепобеждающей силе любви, которой не страшны никакие преграды.

По сюжету артистка варьете Сильва Вареску влюблена в молодого аристократа Эдвина, но брак между ними невозможен из-за социального неравенства. Отец Эдвина просватал за него юную графиню Стаси, и свадьба вот-вот состоится. Но Стаси влюблена в юного графа Бони и с легкостью отказывается от навязанного замужества при первой же возможности. Счастье Сильвы и Эдвина зависит только от благословения родителей. И тут выясняется неожиданная подробность: оказывается мать Эдвина тоже была артисткой варьете!..
