Doctor Faustus is taught by despair at years lived in vain. The mysterious Mephistopheles promises to fulfill all the wishes of the gray-haired scientist, if in return he receives the soul of Faust... Charles Gounod's opera, the plot of which was inspired by Johann Wolfgang Goethe's famous tragedy, premiered in 1859 in Paris. Director Aiks Karapetjans created the production in late Gothic aesthetics, also using German Expressionist-style silent cinema techniques.

Šarla Guno opera, kuras sižetu iedvesmojusi Johana Volfganga Gētes slavenā traģēdija, pirmizrādi piedzīvoja 1859. gadā Parīzē. Režisors Aiks Karapetjans iestudējumu veidojis vēlīnās gotikas estētikā, izmantojot arī vācu ekspresionisma stila mēmā kino paņēmienus.
