Trois destins, trois reines, trois époques

Trois  femmes  souveraines,  confrontées  au  pouvoir,  sont parfois  manipulatrices.  Elles  subissent  l’abandon  et  la trahison,   mais   sont   d'abord   humaines   et   profondément touchantes.

Destins de Reines : airs extraits d’opéras et cantates de Georg Friedrich Haendel, Henry Purcell... Tombeau pour Aliénor, cantate de Thierry Escaich sur un poème d’Olivier Py

Inséparables complices depuis le temps où elles participèrent toutes deux à l’Académie d’Ambronay, Héloïse Gaillard et Patricia Petibon évoquent en musique les destins croisés de trois reines emblématiques. Agrippine la jeune, impératrice romaine, est délicatement dépeinte par Haendel dans sa cantate Agrippina condotta a morire. Mary, reine d’Angleterre a inspiré à Purcell quelques-unes de ses plus belles pages. Le destin d’Aliénor d’Aquitaine enfin, est mis en musique par Thierry Escaich sur un poème d’Olivier Py, une œuvre co-commandée par le CCR d’Ambronay. Un programme royal !

Inseparable accomplices since the time when they both participated in the Ambronay Academy, Héloïse Gaillard and Patricia Petibon evoke in music the crossed destinies of three emblematic queens. Agrippina the Younger, Roman empress, is delicately portrayed by Handel in her cantata Agrippina condotta a morire. Mary, Queen of England inspired Purcell with some of his most beautiful pages. Finally, the destiny of Aliénor d'Aquitaine is set to music by Thierry Escaich on a poem by Olivier Py, a work co-commissioned by the CCR d'Ambronay. A royal program!
