Il Romeo et Juliette del 2012 è passato alla storia dell'Ente Concerti De Carolis e di Sassari: il 12 ottobre 2012 è stata, infatti, la prima opera ad essere proposta al pubblico del nuovo Teatro Comunale di Cappuccini. L'opera di Gounod, ispirata ovviamente a Shakespeare, ed è stata presentata nella versione senza il balletto ma con numerosi reintegri alla partitura. Non viene spesso rappresentata in Italia, anche se ultimamente anche i grandi teatri l'hanno recuperata e la ripropongono in cartellone. La critica dimostrò, nella serata sassarese, di apprezzare particolarmente la regia di Andrea Cigni.

The Romeo et Juliette of 2012 went down in the history of the Concerti De Carolis and Sassari: on 12 October 2012 it was, in fact, the first opera to be offered to the public of the new Teatro Comunale di Cappuccini. Gounod's work, obviously inspired by Shakespeare, and was presented in the version without the ballet but with numerous reinstatements to the score. It is not often represented in Italy, even if recently even the great theaters have recovered it and re-propose it on the bill. The critics showed, in the Sassari evening, to particularly appreciate the direction of Andrea Cigni.
