Царски град осликан је концертом који започиње делом Рајнхолда Глијера Химна великом граду, које је и званична химна Санкт Петербурга од 1965. године. Написана је за потребе најпознатијег воза Црвена стрела, који повезује некадашњу са садашњом престоницом, а њени звуци одјекују железничком станицом Санкт Петербурга пред полазак воза. Најпознатији клавирски концерт чија је премијера била у овом граду је остварење Чајковског у бе-молу. Тамо је и Сергеј Рахмањинов провео своје детињство и започео студије на конзерваторијуму, да би неколико деценија касније у Америци уз осећање носталгије написао Симфонијске игре, дело које затварају сезону Београдске филхармоније.

The Imperial City was painted with a concert that began with Reinhold Glier's Hymn to the Great City, which has been the official anthem of St. Petersburg since 1965. It was written for the needs of the most famous Red Arrow train, which connects the former with the present capital, and its sounds echo through the St. Petersburg railway station before the train departs. The most famous piano concert, which premiered in this city, is Tchaikovsky's work in B minor. Sergei Rachmaninoff also spent his childhood there and began his studies at the conservatory, so that a few decades later in America, with a feeling of nostalgia, he wrote Symphonic Dances, the piece that closes the season of the Belgrade Philharmonic.
