Elezahar batek dio Saturraran hondartzako bi haitz handiak bi maitale direla. Gizarteak ez zien elkar maitatzen uzten eta uretan ito ziren maitaleak. Itsasotik bi haitz handi sortu ziren gero, haien oroimenez. Elkar maitatu ezin diren bi emakumeren kontakizuna da Saturraran. 80ko hamarkadan, Ane, alturako arrantzale baten alaba, eta Luna, furgoneta batean heldutako andaluziarra, elkarrekin maiteminduko dira. Heroinaren zurrunbiloak harrapatuko ditu eta, herritarren gaitzespena dela eta, Saturrarango kartzelaren hondakinetan hartuko dute babesa. Jose, Aneren aita alarguna, haiek laguntzen ahaleginduko da. Dice una leyenda que los dos grandes peñascos de la playa de Saturraran son dos amantes. La sociedad no les permitió amarse y los amantes se ahogaron en el agua. Posteriormente, dos grandes rocas emergieron del mar, en su memoria.

Saturraran es la historia de dos mujeres que no pueden amarse. En los años 80, Ane, la hija de un pescador de alta mar, y Luna, una andaluza que llegó en una furgoneta, se enamoran la una de la otra. Atrapadas por el torbellino de la heroína y, sintiendo el rechazo de los vecinos, deciden refugiarse en las ruinas de la prisión de Saturraran. José, el padre viudo de Ane, intentará ayudarlas.La dificultad de aceptar lo diferente, el embate de la heroína y el Sida, el declive del mundo de la pesca… Saturraran es un homenaje a la generación perdida que nos enseñó a ser libres.
