Since our first performance in 2008, our chef Pietari Inkinen has shared many stages with us. In August 2023, he will retire from the post of Chief Conductor of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. And at his last regular concert in Tokyo, he will perform Sibelius' masterpiece "Kurervo Symphony", which can be said to be the culmination of both. This work is a magnificent story of a mythical world based on the local lyric "Kalevala". The soloists are the Rusanen siblings from Finland. The chorus, which can be said to be the pride of the country, is the University of Helsinki Male Choir and a Japanese mixed team, and the final performance with chief conductor Inkinen will be gorgeous.

2008年の初共演以来、数々のステージを共にしてきた我らがシェフのピエタリ・インキネン。そんな彼も2023年8月をもって日本フィルの首席指揮者のポストを退任します。そして最後の東京定期演奏会では、まさに両者の集大成とも言えるシベリウスの超大作《クレルヴォ交響曲》を演奏いたします。この作品は現地に伝わる叙情詩『カレワラ』に基づく神話世界の壮大な物語。ソリストにはフィンランドから招くルサネン姉弟。合唱団も国の誇りとも言えるヘルシンキ大学男声合唱団と日本の混合チームで、首席指揮者インキネンとの最終公演を豪華に盛り上げます。
