Na scénu Opery SND prichádza monumentálna historická freska, hudobná dráma Eugena Suchoňa!V hudobnom naštudovaní a pod dirigentskou taktovkou Martina Leginus...

Monumentálna historická opera nie je len oslavou slávnej slovanskej minulosti, ale aj presvedčivou hudobnou drámou so zaujímavým vnútorným svetom hlavných postáv. Vládca Svätopluk má pred sebou dilemu: postaviť sa za novú kresťanskú budúcnosť alebo ustúpiť pohanom, nasledovať odkaz Rastislava alebo sa držať moci za každú cenu? Jeho vnútro je sužované i osobnou drámou panovníka, ktorý sa na ceste k moci dopustil ťažkých morálnych deliktov. Zmierenie s Bohom i vlastným svedomím prichádza ako vyvrcholenie drámy na záver v podobe prorockej panovníckej múdrosti a zhovievavosti. Nová inscenácia režiséra Romana Poláka však otvára aj témy, ktoré rieši súčasná spoločnosť. Postavíme sa za slobodu a udržateľnú budúcnosť, alebo ustúpime tým, ktorí nevidia ani niekoľko krokov dopredu?

Zásadná historická téma sa na scénu Opery SND vracia ako súčasť osláv 30. výročia vzniku Slovenskej republiky v novej, vizuálne silnej a filozofickej koncepcii. 

Dovoľujeme si upozorniť divákov s dýchacími problémami, trpiacich epilepsiou, prípadne hypersenzitívnych divákov na prerušované svetelné podnety, ako aj na použitie ohňa v tejto inscenácii, ktorého dôsledkom je dym s možným presahom do hľadiska.

This monumental and historical drama is not only a celebration of the glorious Slavic past but also a compelling musical drama with an intriguing inner world of the main characters. The ruler Svätopluk faces a dilemma: to stand up for a new Christian future or to give in to the pagans, follow the legacy of Rastislav or hold on to his power at all costs? His inner self is also tormented by the personal drama of a ruler who committed grave moral misdeeds on his way to power. The reconciliation with God and with his conscience comes as the culmination of the drama at the end in the form of prophetic sovereign wisdom and benevolence. However, the new production by the director Roman Polák also addresses issues prevailing in contemporary society. Are we going to stand up for our freedom and a sustainable future, or are we going to give way to those who cannot see even a few steps ahead?
 
The fundamental historical theme returns to the Slovak National Theatre Opera stage as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Slovak Republic in a new, visually powerful and philosophical concept.
 
We would like to advise the audience with breathing problems, suffering from epilepsy or hypersensitive viewers to be aware that in this production, there are intermittent light stimuli and the use of fire, which may result in smoke possibly extending into the auditorium.

Das monumentale historische Drama ist nicht nur ein Lobgesang auf die slawische Vergangenheit, sondern auch ein überzeugendes Musikdrama mit interessanter Innenwelt der Hauptfiguren. Der Herrscher Svätopluk steht vor einem Dilemma: soll er die neue christliche Zukunft befürworten oder soll er sich den Heiden beugen und das Vermächtnis Rastislavs befolgen oder soll er um jeden Preis an der Macht bleiben? Sein Inneres wird auch vom persönlichen Drama eines Herrschers geplagt, der sich auf dem Weg zur Macht schwerer moralischer Vergehen schuldig gemacht hat. Das Drama gipfelt in der Versöhnung mit Gott und mit dem eigenen Gewissen in Form der prophetischen Erkenntnis des Herrschers und seiner Gnade. Die Neuinszenierung des Regisseurs Roman Polák präsentiert jedoch auch Themen, die die heutige Gesellschaft bewegen. Stellen wir uns auf die Seite der Freiheit und der nachhaltigen Zukunft, oder geben wir jenen nach, die die Folgen ihrer Handlungen überhaupt nicht abschätzen können?
 
Das grundlegende historische Thema kehrt auf die Bühne der Oper des SND im Rahmen der Feier aus Anlass des 30. Gründungsjubiläums der Slowakischen Republik in einer neuen, visuell und philosophisch starken Konzeption.
