What connects this programme, besides the high quality and the charming beauty of its works, is the spirit of youth, literally and metaphorically: Beethoven and Piazzolla, despite their huge differences in matters of style, brought with an uncompromising young urge the revolution to music of their time and space. Gustav Mahler and Maurice Ravel bend and are inspired by the juvenile world of the children, by the pure sight who contemplates the world through the lens of tenderness and innocence.

Αυτό που συνδέει τα έργα της συναυλίας, πέραν της υψηλής τους ποιότητας και της σαγηνευτικής τους ομορφιάς είναι το πνεύμα της νεότητας, κυριολεκτικά και μεταφορικά: ο Μπετόβεν και ο Πιατσόλα, παρά τις τεράστιες διαφορές του ύφους τους, έφεραν με ασυμβίβαστη νεανική ορμή την επανάσταση στη μουσική του τόπου και της εποχής τους. Ο Μάλερ και ο Ραβέλ σκύβουν και εμπνέονται από τον νεανικό κόσμο των παιδιών, από την ανόθευτη εκείνη ματιά, που ατενίζει τον κόσμο μέσα από το πρίσμα της τρυφερότητας και της αθωότητας.
